Theoretically back up and running
« on: September 12, 2017, 03:26:30 PM »
My office PC, which I use to play MWO is back up and running and everything has been stable for around 8hrs, so i should be ok to give it a proper test run later today during my lunch break :D

The old girl (i5-750, ASUS P7P55-LX board, 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM and a GTX570 GPU) has a new cooler, so I gave it a mild overclock from 2.66ghz to 3.60ghz...
I couldnt get it stable at 3.78ghz or any setting with BCLK above 180 (Im assuming its the RAM spitting chips [funny, I know]), but it now idles at ~35deg and during testing peaked at 63deg without freezing

Im still experimenting as I havent OC'd before, so we'll have to see how it goes

as long as your next post doesn't start with "well, my computer is a smoking crater now" I think everything will work out fine.
