For those of you who have not heard about Star Citizen yet,  you must be living under one big rock,  this link will help answer many questions you may have http://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen/comments/1ugdb5/faq_new_readers_check_and_ask_questions_here/.

If this game interests you I recommend pledging for the game by buying this package https://robertsspaceindustries.com/store/316-aurora-mr.  The Aurora package is $40 and includes alpha and beta access, a digital copy of the game once it is released,  and a ship to start out with other addons.  They have not set a final price for the game yet once released but most likely it will be around $60, so buy now and save!

So, over the last few days I have been immersing myself in Star Citizen and comparing it to how I can immerse myself into MWO.

I like the Mechwarrior story more than I like the Wing Commander story.  If all things were equal I would choose Mechwarrior all day long.  But I have felt more immersed in the content for Star Citizen over the last few days - without Star Citizen even having any content yet - then I have since I started playing MWO over a year ago.

At first I was 50/50 on whether I wanted to spend my money on the Clan Package or on Star Citizen.  After the last few days I'm about 95/5 in favour of Star Citizen.

I'll see if that last 5% dwindles, and if it does I will not be buying the clan package in MWO, and I will instead buy access to Star Citizen.

I made a promise to myself that I would not spend any more money on MWO until their was a completed version of Community Warfare out, and that version was actually worth playing.  While I haven't been able to judge Star Citizen on its gameplay yet, except for running around in my hangar,  The amount of communication that the developers have with the community convinced me to spend the money and pledge.  Also to get a potential AAA game for $40 bucks at release is a steal.

Also if you want more info on Star Citizen they have a wiki up already.

Ok, I bought in and sent in an app for the Space Asp's.

Here's the kicker.  I don't have a computer that can run even the Hangar Module.  So I won't be able to play for probably close to 6 months while I save money to get a whole new rig.  Shouldn't be a problem though, considering the game is at least a year away from release anyway.
